Educational qualification
- Eligibility varies by post and department; the official notice specifies the required engineering qualification for each post.
- Eligible disciplines include Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, Telecom and other qualifications specified in the notice.
- Some posts require relevant post-qualification experience; internship/training during qualification is not counted as the required experience.
AGE CRITERIA
Age limit
- Crucial date for age reckoning: 01 Aug 2026.
- Posts with an upper age limit of 30 years require the candidate to be born not earlier than 02 Aug 1996 and not later than 01 Aug 2008.
- Posts with an upper age limit of 32 years require the candidate to be born not earlier than 02 Aug 1994 and not later than 01 Aug 2008.
- Category-wise age relaxation applies according to the official notice.
PAYMENT
Application fee
- Examination fee: ₹100.
- Women, SC, ST, PwBD and Ex-Servicemen candidates are exempted from payment of the examination fee.
- Fee can be paid online through the modes specified by SSC.
- Correction charges: ₹200 for the first correction/resubmission and ₹500 for the second correction/resubmission.

Computer-Based Examination Paper-I (qualifying) → Paper-II → Document Verification / subsequent appointment as per the applicable rules and vacancies.
Salary / pay scale
Group B, Level-6 of the 7th CPC Pay Matrix: ₹35,400–₹1,12,400.

Open apply page - Complete One-Time Registration (OTR) on the new SSC website, ssc.gov.in.
- Log in and select the Junior Engineer Examination, 2026 application.
- Choose the eligible post/subject as permitted by your educational qualification and complete the required details.
- Upload/complete the required information and submit the online application.
- Pay the applicable ₹100 fee online if you are not exempted and verify the payment status.
- Save or print the submitted application for your records.
